For over 4000 years “Chi-Kung” which means “cultivating energy” has been practiced. Around approximately 500 A.D. the Monks became masters of Chi-Kung and the most powerful people (physically, mentally and emotionally) in all of Tibet and China. After several centuries and much strife, the need for a more aggressive style gave rise to Tai-Chi, an offspring of Chi-Kung, meaning "supreme ultimate".
